FIFA 2022 Qatar World Cup™.

Is this the miracle goal of the World Cup? Or a misplaced cross? Ronaldinho wasn't the first Brazilian to be asked the question, having kicked that famous free-kick away from David Seaman in 2002. Nelinho was met with similar skepticism after a stunning effort to help A Seleção place Italy third in 1978. Like his compatriot, the right-back is determined: he insists that he has been trying to score goals. "I felt the goalkeeper wanted me to go over it," he told FIFA in 2012, "so I changed my mind, I didn't use the inside of my foot, I used the outside. I put the ball on [Dino] Zoff's right side. The goal is curved and works well. "People still ask me if it's a lucky goal if I want to cross. I always have to explain that I don't want to go over the line; if I do, I'll use the back of my foot. It's one that's still talked about today. Goal, I obviously have fond memories of that goal."
